1800's ImmigrationImmigration to the U.S mostly came from East Europe and South Europe. The large flow of new workers contributed to the problems that occurred during this era. The immigrants could replace workers easily and this allowed employers to lower their wages because they could be easily replaced. Our group wanted to do this subject because even today it is a hot button topic. We hope to learn a little more in depth about the struggles and hardships they face and try to use visual aids to help viewer visualize what a typical immigrant would come and see of our great country. The picture we have chosen has the statue of liberty and a boat of immigrants. This really has a powerful impact. She is the first thing immigrants see when they come to our country and to some could be a beacon of hope and change for the better.
